Amazon v. Omega warranty

I am looking to buy an Omega speedmaster professional watch. I see that amazon is selling this watch for an excellent price, and I am debating whether to buy it from amazon or directly from an authorized dealer (where it would be more expensive).

I read the advice given on this your-guide-to-watches website, and found it very helpful. The details about amazon's limited 5-year warranty were especially helpful. My question is, what are the differences between Omega's "manufacturer" warranty and amazon's "limited 5-year" warranty? Are these differences significant? For example, is the "manufacturer" warranty a lifetime warranty, or is it for only 5 years like the amazon warranty? Does the "manufacturer" warranty cover anything that might possibly go wrong with the watch, or are there limitations? And how do the limitations in the "manufacturer" warranty differ/compare with the limitations in the amazon warranty?

Any specific differences you can give about the warranty differences between Omega and Amazon would be greatly appreciated.
