Buying "Gray Market" Watches Isn't Smart

Yes, you can "save" money by buying a "gray market" Omega or other high-end brand of watch, but you will not get a factory warranty. You will get a warranty from the seller, but that warranty doesn't get you access to authorized Omega watch technicians and parts. Some gray market watches have the serial numbers stamped out. A greater risk is that you will get a replica, instead of the real deal. These replicas can look like the real thing until you open them up and look inside--and how many of us are equipped to do that? Many times these gray market watches are used or have sat on a shelf for years, and come with dirty or torn boxes. If you want a truly high-end watch, spend what it takes to get one from an authorized dealer. This isn't the way to save money!
