Fossil Watch Battery Replacement

WILL YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I HAVE TO GO TO A SPECIFIC "FOSSIL WATCHES DEALER" TO REPLACE THE BATTERY OF MY "MEN'S FOSSIL WATCH", OR CAN ANY WATCH DEALER REPLACE MY BATTERY?
AND, IF SO, CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH TYPE OF BATTERY I HAVE TO BUY TO INSTALL ON MY "MEN'S FOSSIL"?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Fossil Battery Replacement

I have taken mine to the places that sell them and the best bet is to go to a jewler so you don't have some 18 yr old scratching the heck out of the back of your watch trying to get it open. Some jewlers will advertize free watch battery replacement ocasionally just to get you in the store.

jewelers are bad

don't take your watch back to the dept store. don't take it to a stinkin JEWELER! take it to a WATCHMAKER! no they don't MAKE watches, it's just the name. well, some of them DO make watches, and parts to watches...

please if you love your watch, find a watchmaker in the phone book.

If you buy a Fossil watch beware that the best and often only way to have a battery replaced is by sending it back to Fossil.

SHIP TO: METRO SERVICE CENTER
ATT: REPAIRS DEPT.
10615 SANDEN DRIVE
DALLAS, TEXAS 75238

All Fossil watches are warranteed for 11 years and if your watch stops they will check to see why and if it needs a battery they will replace it for you. Do not let any other jeweler ruin your watch.

Ridiculously unavailable

The easiest solution to battery replacement in aFOSSIL watch is to NEVER own a FOSSIL watch. That way, you won't have the every 2 year return trip to the manufacturer to replace a stinking battery.
Besides which, these watches are big and heavy and more times than not you end up with a scratched cystal no matter how careful you are.
Save yourself the trouble and buy an easily serviced watch that gives accurate time. If it's decoration you want, buy a bracelet!

I have a Fossil watch and recently tried to find a replacement battery. I asked at Macy's and was told that you can't buy a replacement battery for Fossil watches.

replacement battery
by: Anonymous

The fossil store, usually found in outlet shopping malls, will replace the battery, for a fee of course. I have two watches and the batteries have died in both really fast, even after having them replaced by the fossil sales people at the store. By the way, the battery was probably 20bucks or so---kind of expensive. I refuse to buy another battery from them and I am certainly not going to buy another watch from them. I think its a gimmick or ripoff to keep having batteries die so soon. It's like I'm getting batteries from them that are on life support!

opened one of my fossil watches
by: Anonymous

i did open one of my fossi watches. just cleaned around the edge of the battery case with a razor blade...very carefully. I then poped it open with a rounded edge exacto knife. However, I jave not had sucess with the other fossil I have model ES9965. I'll keep working on it. What's funny about it is that I see the lip at about 5:00. Anyway, the battery for my BW-6779 is one 377 or SR626SW.

FOSSIL AM3927
by: Subhash

Hi,

I own a FOSSIL AM3927 Men's wrist watch. I bought it during my sojourn in USA in June 2007. Now the watch has stopped ticking. Tried to find its replacement battery in India with no success.

Could anyone at least pass on the information on what kind of battery is used in this wrist watch( i.e. any details of battery model, type etc)??

Regards
