GMT Oakley Watch Goes Global

The GMT Oakley watch is ready to travel anywhere and will do its part to keep you on time in all 24 time zones. The Oakley GMT comes in several models which all combine the precision of a quartz movement with a design that navigates time around the globe. Oakley has wrapped the analog dial, three subdials and date display of the GMT with the highest grade of surgical stainless steel for maximized comfort and fit. All you have to do whenever you change time zones is make a quick adjustment to the World City hand and the local time will be displayed automatically.

For all you road warriors, the GMT Oakley watch includes not one, but two alarms which are easily set with the bottom subdial which is dedicated for the alarm, making it easy to see what time the alarm is set for with a quick glance at the watch. An anti-reflective coating on the pure sapphire crystal ensures a glare-free view of the the high-contrast display with luminous hands and hour markers.

With the GMT Oakley you won't have to worry about taking a second watch with you for workouts. This Oakley comes fully equipped with a chronograph, second hand and a screw down case back that provides a water resistance rating to 330 feet (100 meters), allowing you to take it with you for swimming and snorkeling. Please note that Oakley specifically states that this watch is NOT to be used for scuba diving or saturation diving.

The "Stealth" model (Model number 10-155) is their "all-black" model and features a black dial, black subdials, black case and a black bracelet. Retail price is $650. This is the most popular of the four GMT models and is usually on backorder. Even if you try to order directly from Oakley, they have a message on their website that says you need to call to confirm availability.
If you want to buy this model from an authorized dealer, expect to pay full price and wait a few months for delivery. Our featured merchant, WatchZone.com, does not even offer it right now - although they do offer two of the other models. If you don't want to wait, would like to save a few hundred dollars and aren't too concerned about the warranty, You can find this watch on eBay from individual sellers and some merchants. Model number 10-141 (shown above) features a blue dial, white subdials and a silver-tone "honed" case and bracelet, which is basically a brushed finish. Retail price is $575 and is readily available. You can still expect to pay full price but sometimes you can find a deal on eBay. Again, all of the current eBay auction listings for GMT Oakley watches are listed below.
Model number 10-142 (shown in the WatchZone listing below) has a black dial, white subdials and silver-toned polished case and bracelet. Retail price is $650. This model is readily available and, again, expect to pay full price.
The model with white dial, white subdials, silver-tone "honed" case and bracelet (Model number 10-140) appears to be discontinued. It used to be listed on the Oakley website (with limited availability) but is not currently showing up. This model is getting harder and harder to find. As of this writing, there are several listings on eBay.
Finally, model number 10-143 has a white dial, light gray subdials, black case and bracelet and retails for $650. This model is extremely hard to find. Even if you do a google search for this model, most of the pages shown in the results are either no longer in existence or the item is no longer available. On 4/26/06, there was only one listing on eBay for a used one and it was from a seller in the United Kingdom.

Oakley Warranty Policy

As stated on their website:

All authentic Oakley timekeeping instruments are warranted for one year from the date of purchase against manufacturers defects. Coverage is valid only with proof of purchase from an Authorized Oakley Timepiece Dealer.

To qualify for service under the above guarantee, valid proof of purchase — which clearly shows the purchase date
and the name of the Authorized Oakley Timepiece Dealer — must be presented if a repair claim is made during the
warranty period.
