OK. This seems crazy to me.
I have a Cartier tank watch (battery operated watch). I bought it used, but it worked very well (ran about 4-5 minutes slow after a week or so) for about 2 years, then it started running really slow, so I figured it needed a new battery. Fine. Got the battery, no problems for about another year.
Then it starts running REALLY slowly. Like, 10, 20 or more minutes. I take it into a reputable(?) jeweler to get fixed, and they send it to a watch guy. The watch gets an overhaul for over 300$...and another new battery....but continues to run slow....right now it is 5:32 and my watch reads 5:20. I took it in twice but they say they kept it for several days and it was running on time, not until its on my body that it starts running slowly.
Someone told me that certain people's body chemistry can affect a watch, but that seems crazy to me. Ever heard of such a thing? Any merit in the idea? It drives me crazy that a watch of this price (and repair price, since I could have gotten a fairly decent brand-new watch that runs on time) isn't running on time.
HELP!
