Omega 1882 NEW

The majority of the watches out there are Chinese knockoffs. The $23,000 watches are very rare and the majority are in collections. You won't find them on craigslist or ebay. Be careful when buying these as many owners are unaware the one they have is a reproduction. Also the 1882 is the model, not the year of manufacture.

Research on omega ball watch 1882

Hi everyone, further to my request for info in feb 2010 I started to research this for myself. I found this watch is sold for a few pounds in Asian markets - mine has the omega symbol as a hanger and a metal chain tassel on the bottom. It is usually sold with a desk stand and this hooks into the omega symbol. One giveaway is if you take a real omega watch there is so much info engraved into the movement yet these fakes usually have # jewels on the movement. A friend also recently returned from turkey with one of these on a stand and said they also sold this with other brands on the face and the omega hook on the top replaced with just a circle. The real omega ball watch I believe is not actually fully ball shaped but just has a rounded front glass. Hope this helps.

Omega Ball Watch

People out there!!!! of the watch world,,, I have an Omega Ball Watch in what looks like Base metal and brass! It is hung from what looks like the Omega symbol which is part of the swivel hanging for a chain or ribbon. Both sides back and front are see through and magnified one side showing movement and the other showing the cream face and roman numerals It also has what looks like a brass metal bell with 4xchains coming from the end of the bell.,,, and the Omega crest. It also say's "\Swlt.zerland made 1882 with a blue sapphire on the top of the winding button. Please can someone tell me what it is and possibly what it might be worth??? Many thanks

Omega Glass ball watch

Hi everyone,
It is encased round the middle in I think brass.
It has small chains hanging from it.
It has omega on the dial but nothing else.
It has 3 rubies/stones in the back of the movement and the +/- adjuster has a ruby? in a pretty shaped gold surround. I have seen your postings so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if it is an omega ball watch 1882 and any history
of this watch and should I have it on my house insurance. Looking forward to your comments.
