Review of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean

by Haim Helman

I have bough the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean one year ago.
The first thing I notices when starting to use it is that it far less accurate than I was led to believe.
I was that while these type of watches (Self-winding chronometer) are usually less accurate this watch has less than one second a day skew. In reality the skew is more than two seconds a day.
Next, after a year of using the watch it simply died - stopped working, even though I never took it off.
I was amazed, and I was sure Omega customer service will be as amazed.
However, Omega service in the US is terrible. You have to mail the watch to them (and insure it, at your expense) and then wait forever for them to let you know what is wrong and what are they going to do about it.
So, my summery is that this watch has much lower quality than its PR suggests, and it is acompanied by very poor service.
