Rolex Oyster Perpetual Watches
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust watch was introduced in 1945 as the first wristwatch to display the date. There are currently 20 different models available featuring choices in 18 carat white, yellow and pink gold, platinum, stainless steel and various models offering diamonds set in the dials and bezels. All models are equipped with self-winding automatic certified Swiss Chronometer movements and are waterproof to 100 meters.
The men's models are 36 millimeters wide. The very popular ladies models, known as the Man's Watch Women Prefer, are 31 millimeters wide. List prices range from approximately $3,500 for a men's model with a stainless steel case and bracelet up to more than $50,000 for the Special Edition Ladies' Model 81338 featuring 18 carat yellow gold case and bracelet, mother-of-pearl dial with diamonds set in the dial, bezel and bracelet.
In 1958 Rolex introduced the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date, which is commonly known as the "President". Technically, the term "President" is officially used by Rolex to describe the style of one of their bracelets. You can actually find the President bracelet on several of the Datejust models and you can find the Oyster bracelet on several Day-Date models.
While the Day-Date (President) and Datejust are two of the most popular collections, other Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch collections include the Air-King, Perpetual, Date, Datejust Turn-O-Graph, Lady-Datejust and the Lady-Datejust Pearlmaster.
