There are actually two different companies that manufacture Swiss Army Watches, as well as Swiss Army knives - Victorinox and Wenger. Both companies have established a high degree of respectibility and popularity from their manufacture of knives for over 100 years. All Swiss Army products are well known for their utility and durability. The multi-purpose knives were made popular when American G.I.'s "discovered" them during World War II. Wenger and Victorinox began manufacturing and distribution Swiss Army Watches in 1988 and 1989 respectively.

Victorinox Logo
A Victorinox Swiss Army Watch will have the Swiss Cross on a red shield and the phrase "Swiss Army" on the dial. The company that actually manufacturers Victorinox watches is Swiss Army Brands. There are currently four different collections - Active, Classic, Professional and Travel/Pocket. All models come with a three year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
Originally, most Victorinox Swiss Army watches were basically sporty quartz watches with a military touch such as different additional features and varying case materials.
All of the watches in the Active collection and the Classic collection still use quartz movements, with the exception of the Classic Ambassador series which features mechanical and automatic movements. List prices for these watches range from approx. $100 to $400. The Ambassador series range in price from $525 to $625.
Recently, they have focused on moving up into the mid-price segment of the watch market with their Professional collection, producing manual and automatic watches as well as a collection of dive watches that are water resistant to 500 meters.
The newest addition to the Victorinox Swiss Watch collection is the Limited Edition Airboss Mach 6 Chronograph, featuring the ETA Valjoux 7753 Top Execution calibre, a self-winding mechanical chronograph with a power reserve of 48 hours. This watch is limited to 125 numbered pieces and is packaged in a watch winder box. List price is $1,395.00.

Wenger Logo
Wenger Swiss watches have the Swiss Cross on a rounded, red square and the name "Wenger" on the dial. They currently offer over a dozen different collections.
