I have what I believe is a Laco watch, about 25 cm in diameter. It is a ladies watch, with no identifing marks on the outside of the case, which is gold. The face has a golden starburst in the center (about 8 CM)numerals are in black, arabic, and in a german style reminisant of the '30's; they on a flat gold background with a fine black minute ring. Laural wreath engraving is on the case on either side if the dial, an is th only ornimentation on the case. The watch is exquisite in design and funtionality. Althought the style is Classic, I do not feel the watch is very old (vintage early 60's, perhaps.)
Inside, I find the following:
The Laco Insignia ("LACO" written in a half circle, with a line across the top and two below the word LACO; Ten Dashes and "v"'s comining out of the top of the half circle, like sunbeams.
Additionally, The words:
PLAQUE
SARANTIE
(where unreadable, ~) ~0 AHRI~
Also, a repair notation that is too faint to be legible - I believe it includes a date, but I can read only 19~~.
Would you have information on this model? I thank you for your help.

Good info - and I think it helped answer a question.... by: Anonymous
in my Ricoh/Takano history article. Ricoh predecessor, Takano, bought movements from a company named "Rako", from West Germany, in the Japanese translation. I believe the answer is "Laco" - rather than something like "Rado". Laco makes sense lingistically as well.
