very unhappy Citizen Ladies Eco-Drive GT DIA

I purchased a citizen's eco drive watch at zales,2011 roan street,, johnson city TN 37601 07/02/03 for my girl friend, model # as printed on sales rceipt CIT LD5 ECO GT DIA. She was so happy with the watch, she wore it every day. She told me that she loved that watch more than any other she had ever had, around twenty months to be exact, 03/31/05 , the watch just fell apart. The wind stem just fell out and just stopped operating. We returned it to the zales store where we puchased the watch, they in turn returned it to the manufacturer for repair. About 8 weeks later the store called to say that the manufacturer had replaced the watch the explanation as to why the watch fell apart was they did not know so they just replaced the watch. Again my girl friend was very happy, then once again in august 2008 the new replaced watch did the very same thing so once again we returned it to zales where we originally purchased the watch and once again they sent the watch back to the manufacturer to be repaired or replaced as they told us that each watch had a 5 year warranty, the store called again just last week 12/03/08 to say the manufacturer declared they would not repair or replace the watch unless I payed 169.00 plus shipping and handling also sales tax so does this mean that citizen watch co. isn't going to give a explanation as to why there watch did the very same thing again or repair or replace the watch under warranty I am really disappointed with the citizen watch co's response to this problem.
