Where's the Design?

Something about the look of the timepieces makes me think they are designed by the same designers who are making the not-so-great selling American cars. Too much going on, a strange assortment of colors, nothing resonates as clean form meets function of Rolex, Jeager LC, etc.
Why not bring in guest industrial designers to shake things up and raise the design bar?
